I bought a Doc Watson CD, mostly fingerpicking. Found that my version of Deep River is faster than his. Maybe if I slow it down, I can put in some of the flourishes he does. Also met an old timer at a guitar shop Saturday, he was playing resinator guitars and was cutting some mean licks. We struck up a conversation I played 'Laughing Dog Blues' for him. He then showed my a version of 'Trouble in Mind' which sounds very much like Doc's version of Sittin' on 'Top of the World.' I can't wait till I can try some of this new stuff.
